In Hawthorn Class the emphasis is on learning through play and having fun! A wide range of activities are available, encouraging the all-around development of each child. The children will have every opportunity to develop skills in the Seven Areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum. The environment in this room is relaxed and well structured; allowing children to play, explore and engage in active learning. The children are developing their pre-writing skills through painting, drawing, cutting and sticking, all of which are strengthening their fine motor skills.

Hawthorn Class have their very own mascot, Walter Bear. Every child has the opportunity to take this bear for a week in order to participate in a range of activities with him. The children thoroughly enjoy this experience, feeling proud whilst developing their self-confidence.
